Benon has 26 years of professional experience in research, policy formulation and implementation, procurement, project planning and management in the energy sector.
He has spearheaded the formulation and implementation of renewable energy and energy access projects funded by Government of Uganda and development partners that include among others – World Bank, Africa Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme / Global Environment Facility (UNDP/GEF), GIZ, Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), French Development Agency (afd), SIDA, Government of Norway, JICA and KfW. He has had the opportunity of serving on several boards as both Director and Advisor.
Benon holds a Master of Engineering Science (Development Technologies) from University of Melbourne, Australia, a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute – Uganda, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Makerere University, Uganda
